Westfest Book Sale

We are starting to take donations of gently used books, recent computer/ game Box games, board games/puzzles (please try to make sure all pieces are there), VHS, DVDs and CDs for the Westfest Book Sale. So as you go through your garage, attic or family spaces doing your spring/summer cleaning keep us in mind. We will pick up or you’re welcome to just drop off at our home. Please no magazines, encyclopedias, cassette tapes or records.

Westfest 2008 at the Hi Yu!

Bring your family and friends and come join us, on Saturday, July 19th, as we walk the Hi-Yu Parade again to support WestFest 2008. Last year, we had a fantastic turn-out and we won the 1st place trophy for “Best Conveyed Float.” Let’s try for that again! Come find our float, around 10AM, on the north side of Hiawatha Park (last year, we were parked on California Ave next to the Admiral Safeway). Don’t forget to wear your WestFest T-shirt! Or if you have any questions, please contact Meg Peterson. Thank you to those who attended our first meeting! We are still looking for a few good volunteers! We need to fill these chair positions: Sponsorship Recycling Teen Dance - We need a 6th or 7th grade parent or parents to coordinate the 2008 teen dance. Without a volunteer, we won’t be able to hold the event this year. Please or if you want to volunteer or have any questions. Thank you!

Planning Has Begun For Westfest 2008

WestFest 2008 Important Dates! Mark your calendars for the following dates:
- Sunday, September 7: Pancake Breakfast
- Saturday, September 13th: Italian Dinner
- Friday and Saturday, September 19 and 20: WestFest weekend
Also, we plan to walk in the West Seattle Grand Parade again this year. We would love for you to join us on Saturday, July 19. Watch the FCE for more information to come.
Our first WestFest meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 27 in the convent dining room. If you are a chair person it would be very helpful if you could be there. This is a great time to pass on any new ideas you might have to make WestFest the best it can be. In the meantime, if you DO NOT plan to chair your event next year, please or to let us know who will be taking your place. If you are a new chair this year, please send us an e-mail so that we can help with your planning. WestFest 2007 was a super success. Thanks to everyone who made this happen! We look forward to an amazing WestFest 2008. We still have a few volunteer spots to fill, so if you are interested in helping, here are some slots we need to fill: Sponsorship Chair, Baked potato/Pizza booth Chair. We need a 7th or 8th grade parent to chair the Teen Dance to be held on Friday, September 26. Thanks Everyone!
Westfest Volunteer Opportunity: Sponsorship Chair

Earn volunteer fundraising hours and help earn more funds for our school! We need an enthusiastic person for our team to lead the effort to gather corporate and business sponsors for WestFest. The majority of this work can be done from home and over the summer. The Sponsorship Chair would be part of the Publicity and Community Relations Committee of WestFest where you will have assistance and expertise to guide you.
